Our Staff - Teddington
Katherine Thompson, HPC
Podiatrist
Qualifications/Specialism: In 1997 I completed my undergraduate degree in Podiatry at Southampton University, and since my initial three years' post graduate work in central London I have specialised in Podiatric Biomechanics. I have a particularly keen interest in treating children and teenagers, as well as both recreational and professional athletes (especially runners and skiers).
Prior to joining the team at Physio&Therapy, I worked as a Physiotherapy and Podiatry multi-site manager for five years during which time I was able to use and trial many different orthotic (insole) materials. I have a wealth of knowledge as to what works best for each patient, and I use modern CAD- CAM (computer aided design and manufacturing) technology and an array of material types and densities.
I believe in listening to individual patient needs, comprehensive treatment plans, multi-practitioner therapy, and 'hands on' treatments. I regularly receive referrals directly from foot and ankle specialist orthopaedic surgeons and consultants within the NHS and private sector medical communities.
During my career I have lectured and run workshops for orthopaedic surgeons, ski instructors and Physiotherapists and regularly attend relevant courses to keep up to date.
Interests: As well as my Podiatric work, I am a keen (if somewhat slow.......) jogger and a Mum.
